  • A: Half an hour or one hour is the time slot available for lessons. Due to nature of complex scheduling, 45 minutes lessons are not available.

  • A: Parent & Tot programs start as early as 3 months old as most babies love the water. It is up to you as a parent to decide when you and your baby are ready.

  • A: You are welcome to sit in the pool area. If you have a question or comment, please speak to the instructor.

  • A: We accept cheque or cash. Cheques can be post-dated if session is pre-booked.

  • A: Registration can be done by email or phone. Payment must be made upon time of registration in order to secure your children (or your) spot.

  • A: We offer free assessments for all students. We will discuss with the swimmer’s and their parents/families about previous experiences to swimming lessons; experiences in the water; the swimmer’s strengths, hobbies, interests, special needs and other relevant information. We also frequently communicate with parents on their child’s progress and how they are adjusting to lessons.

  • A: We will be willing to offer one makeup class per session. In order to receive the makeup lesson, we require 48-hour notification. Special arrangements can be made for special occasions. There will be no makeups for the last class and no makeup classes for makeup lessons.

  • A: We teach rain or shine. However, during thunderstorms we cancel and reschedule the lesson to another date.

  • A: At Amica, there is free parking on Creekside any time of the day and free parking in the municipal lot across from 50 Hatt St. You must not park in the parking lot of Amica.

  • A: At our Ancaster location, please park on the right side of the driveway, towards the back or on the street.

  • A: There are no refunds for lessons cancelled prior to the 3rd lesson during the fall, winter, and spring lessons. For summer lessons, class passes have to be purchased and paid in advance to hold a spot. If you need to cancel a lesson, we require 48 hours notice during the summer session.

  • A: You should bring a bathing suit, towel, flip flops, goggles and a re-useable swim diaper is required for all children under 3 years of age. If you are in a parent & tot class, make sure you bring your bathing suit as well.

  • A: Unfortunately, no. Your child (or you) only have access to the facility under the care of the instructor, during the time allotted for your lesson. After this time, you do not have access to the pool, sauna, hot tub, towels, or fitness center.

  • A: Your child (or you) can take our pre lifesaving courses (Rookie, Ranger, and Star Patrol) and if they are 14 years of age of older, they can join our Lifesaving Society Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross courses. They may also choose to join our swim-coaching program to refine the technique and skills.

  • A: Yes, we will accommodate you as best as possible. If we have the space available in our schedule we will be happy to change the time of your lesson for you.
